Obituary : John Grasso

John had many interests, but his love of boating, a fine bourbon and a great cigar was second to none. He was happiest on the water.

John Grasso, 58, loving father of four children, passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2020.

He was born November 13, 1962 to the late Anthony and Rosemary (Pavia) Grasso, from Stamford, CT. His sudden death at the age of 58 is a shock to all who knew him. He had an unmatched zest for life, lived for the moment, and was loved and respected by all.

John graduated from Brien McMahon High School in 1980 and was a lifelong resident of Norwalk. He was co-owner of All About Bats and Wildlife and also ran a successful plowing business.

John was a devoted and loving father, and has left behind four heartbroken children, Toni-Ann (fiance Zach Kali), Tori, Johnny and Joey, and lifelong love and fiance, Lisa Russo and her son Justin. In addition to his children and fiance, John will be terribly missed by his five siblings and their spouses, Lori Grasso, Anthony Grasso (Celeste), Marianne Kensek (Alan), Bob Grasso (Maureen) and Lisa Crick (Michael) and many nieces and nephews who adored their larger than life Uncle John.

John had many interests, but his love of boating, a fine bourbon and a great cigar was second to none. He was happiest on the water, entertaining his family and numerous friends. John will be remembered for his contagious smile and laugh, sense of humor, heart of gold, his generosity and those warm bear hugs.

A memorial service for John will be held on Tuesday, December 22nd 6-9 pm at the Hoyt- Cognetta / Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk.
