Obituary: Theodore 'Ted' Ristau, 88

A longtime Norwalk resident, Ted served in the Army National Guard, and retired from Perkin-Elmer as warehousing supervisor.

The following obituary of Norwalk resident Theodore “Ted” Ristau, 88, is from Magner Funeral Home:

Theodore “Ted” Ristau, 88, of Norwalk, died on Tuesday, Feb 9, 2021, at Yale-New Haven. Born in
Torrington, son of the late Gerhart and Honnour (Hackett) Ristau, he was the loving husband of the late Barbara (Wakelee) Ristau for 49 years. A longtime Norwalk resident, Ted served in the Army National Guard, and retired from Perkin-Elmer as warehousing supervisor. An avid antique car enthusiast, he was a member of the CT Ford VA Club and the Ford VA Club of America. Ted was an active member of the St. Philip parish and treasured the time he spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his children; Joseph Ristau and his wife Amy of Bridgeport, MaryBeth Heady and her husband Glenn of Danbury, Theodore Ristau Jr., and his wife Linda of New Milford, five loving
grandchildren; Jessica, Samantha, Sandra, Kaitlyn and Taylor, two cherished great-grandchildren, Ben and Piper, as well as a brother, Kookie Ristau and fiancée Debbe Bologna of Danbury, and loving companion, Kathleen Sheridan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday, February 12, at St. Philip Church, 1 Fr. Conlon Place, Norwalk. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
