Road Work Today Closes Lane on Rt. 7 in Norwalk and Other Highways in the Area

Road Work will close the right lane on the northbound-traffic side of U.S. Rt. 7 between Exits 1 and 2 (on Tuesday there was road work between Interstate 95 and Exit 1).

The work on that 0.8-mile stretch of highway is expected to be complete by 2:30 p.m.

These other highway lane closures in the area were announced by the department Wednesday morning:

• Darien — The left lane is closed on the southbound-traffic side of Interstate 95 between Exits 10 and 13 for road work, the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced late Wednesday morning. The lane may be closed for some part of the 1.8-mile stretch of road as late as 3:05 p.m. The reason for the road work was not given.
• Stamford — The northbound-traffic side of the Merritt Parkway (U.S. Rt. 15) is congested between Exits 31 and 33 because the left lane is closed due to road work between those two exits. The work isn’t expected to end until 2:30 p.m.
