
A man was detained by Fairfield Police following a sexual assault on a Metro North train Tuesday morning.
Fairfield officers assisted MTA Police, who reported that the sexual assault occurred on an eastbound train. Officers stopped and searched the train and surrounding area for the suspect, according to Fairfield Police Sgt. Suzanne Lussier.
Sgt. Christopher Ioli located an individual matching the description of the suspect given by the victim and witnesses. Â The suspect was detained on the Unquouwa Road Bridge and turned over to MTA Police, according to Lussier.
