Santa Snow Globe Experience

Santa Claus will be meeting, greeting and posing for complimentary photographs with kids while safely socially distanced inside a giant snow globe. Parents and children will be able to walk up and engage Santa with their Christmas wish lists and hopes for the year ahead and snap their own photographs for free. Prefer not to stand in line? Reserve your spot with Spot Holder, a cloud-based line-management platform from Waitwhile that enables shoppers to make a reservation with Santa and hold their place line while they shop, dine, and enjoy holiday décor and artworks onsite. (Enjoy the Santa Snow Globe experience on weekends from November 29 - December 20: Fridays 4pm-7pm, Saturdays & Sundays 11am-5pm. Face coverings for visitors and Santa may be required during your contactless visit.)

Artwork & Seasonal Activations

The SoNo Collection’s array of vibrant murals, modern sculptures and one-of-a-kind art installations will shine through the holidays. Discover new holiday-themed additions through the season including:

· Unlock your own sound-and-light show with a walk through the Holiday Bells Grove in the People’s United Magnificent Room featuring a 24-foot center bell with 1.6 million LED filaments and six smaller bells activated by the movements of viewers to spur a symphony of illuminating lights and sound. (Take a peek here.) On Shopping Level 2, guests are encouraged to check out the Cheer Deer, a towering topiary reindeer trimmed to perfection and standing eight-feet tall; Mom’s Basement dressed up with pink Christmas trees arranged for fun, retro holiday moments; and a seven-foot-tall Menorah to mark the celebration of light over the eight nights of Hanukkah. Additionally, there are holiday-themed backdrops and murals throughout The SoNo Collection for picture-perfect settings to enjoy alongside family and friends.

· Arriving just in time for the holidays, Lazy & Twirly flower sculptures by Evansville, Indiana-based artist and muralist Cooper will brighten the sculpture garden balcony near The People’s United Magnificent Room. Cooper’s vibrant mural that represents fresh interpretation of the wonder of nature is currently being installed, with the unique sculptures set to make their debut in December. The new sculptures will be the latest in The SoNo Collection’s ever-growing collection of more than 20 works of featured art. Works include the interactive sculptures Euclid and The Cloud by internationally renowned Brooklyn-based artist Jen Lewin on permanent display at the Southwest Plaza Entrance and the third-floor marketplace; the new three-dimensional sculpture Bear by Brazilian visual artist Alex Ferror at street level in The SoNo Garden, Level 3; and BeBold, an outdoor sculpture by Chicago-based artist and designer Matthew Hoffman on Level 3 near Bloomingdale’s.

Give the Gift of Warmth

As we head into the holidays, The SoNo Collection is proud to partner with Catholic Charities to help celebrate the season of giving. This year’s Warm for the Winter Coat Drive will collect new coats, hats, scarves and mittens for distribution free of charge to provide warm-weather essentials to those challenged during this very unusual year. Guests are encouraged to donate new items within designated bins located throughout The SoNo Collection, from November 20 - December 11, 2020. (For more information, visit here). This initiative is taking place at Brookfield Properties shopping centers across the country.
