Suspect Accused Of Multiple Vehicle Burglaries In Norwalk: Police
Norwalk police began the investigation into the incidents in March of last year.

NORWALK, CT — A 31-year-old New Haven man has been arrested by Norwalk police in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries last year.
Chaz McFadden was arrested on a warrant charging him with seven counts of third-degree burglary and three counts of sixth-degree larceny. He had been taken into custody by Milford police on Sunday, who turned him over to Norwalk authorities.
The investigation began on March 28 after Norwalk police received a complaint from the homeowner of an undisclosed street in Norwalk that several vehicles had been broken into.

"The homeowner was able to provide surveillance video of an individual entering several vehicles at different residences," Norwalk police said. "A leather backpack with multiple baseball hats was taken, valued at about $400."
About five months later, one of the victims of one of the burglaries saw a pile of backpacks and other items in a heap outside the Mobil gas station on East Avenue. The stolen leather backpack was in the pile, and the victim notified police.

The person who had left the backpacks and other items was spotted on surveillance video, and while the investigators were on scene reviewing the footage, they saw the same person walking on East Avenue.
The officers approached him and learned his name was Chaz McFadden. He was not arrested at that time, but police obtained a warrant.
McFadden was taken into custody over the weekend and was held in lieu of bail of $100,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 23.
