NORWALK, CT — Yard House, a national chain restaurant and bar, which bills itself as having the world's largest selection of beers on tap, opened Monday in The SoNo Collection mall in South Norwalk.

The new site is the chain's 83rd location, and it's first in Connecticut. Yard House also has restaurants in Arizona, California, Texas, New Jersey, New York, Florida, Colorado and several other states.

"Each Yard House is literally built around its expansive bar, which serves as the centerpiece of the restaurant," a spokesperson said. "A selection of taps are reserved for local and regional beers. In Norwalk, these include Bright Blonde Ale by Half Full Brewery from Stamford, Geobunny Hazy IPA by Nod Hill Brewery in Ridgefield, and Road to Ruin Imperial IPA by Two Roads Brewing Company in Stratford."

The 12,000-square-foot Norwalk restaurant boasts more than 2 miles of beer lines between the bar and the glass-enclosed keg room, which houses 3,000 gallons of beer. It also will bring 150 jobs to the city, officials said.

Yard House's menu features "globally inspired dishes and twists on classics made from scratch daily, ensuring there’s something for everyone who visits."
