2 New Businesses Open In Oxford

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held recently.

OXFORD, CT — First Selectman George Temple welcomed two new businesses in town at a ribbon cutting ceremony held at the Route Sixty-Seven Professional Center on Oxford Road.

Young at Heart Founder, Elaine Marcucio said that she will provide social and education workshops more geared towards the 50 and older generation, but will also offer multi-generational programs as well.

Chrisandras Country Store LLC, offers a wide variety of antiques, home decor, flowers, gift baskets, pies, handmade gifts, local honey and syrup. Jackie Yannes, was the previous owner of Chrisandras Antiques and Flowers in Seymour.

Yannes, closed the business 15 years ago to explore new business opportunities. Yannes decided to return to the antique and gift business and stated, “I always loved antiques and am excited to be here in Oxford. What better location than right on the main road.”

Temple said, “both of these businesses reflect something that I felt that the town was in need of for quite some time. It is a welcome addition to see women taking the lead in business ownership and entrepreneurship.”
