Oxford Historical Society Brings Back Historic House Signs
The Historical Society last sold Historic House signs during the 1976 National Bicentennial.
Press release from The Oxford Historical Society:
July 9, 2021
The Oxford Historical Society is again making historic house signs available to local residents. The Historical Society sold Historic House signs during the 1976 National Bicentennial. Usually the signs included the name of the builder or first owner and the date it was constructed. It has been 45 years since they were made and some homeowners may want to replace a weathered sign. The signs will also be available to others homeowners. Each custom-made sign purchased will have a name and date.

Now available are locally made signs: 11 inches by 18 inches of painted board with pre-drilled holes to allow easy mounting. You choose two lines of text. Each sign costs $100 payable to the Oxford Historical Society, which includes a donation to the Oxford Historical Society.
Usually sought by old house owners to show the year of their house construction, the text can be customized to any name or year. Residents may choose the year your family built your house - or moved into your 'home sweet home.'
