Coronavirus Oxford: Town Hall Closed, Parks Open
The Oxford Fire Department announces changes it is implementing to help prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

OXFORD, CT — In the ongoing effort to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, Town Hall is closed as of March 18 and all board and commission meetings are canceled for the rest of this week, officials announced.
Anyone needing assistance, such as help with shopping, supplies etc., is asked to call the First Selectman's Office at 203-888-2543 ext. 3027. All town parks will remain open, officials said in an update on Wednesday. Visit the town website here.
The Oxford Fire Department also announced changes it is implementing for fire, EMS response and visitation. The department is responding to all calls as normal with no delay, however, when 911 officials say you may be asked for more information than normal so that responders are “safe and if needed to use extra measure for their protection.”

Please be mindful that hospitals are restricting visitors into the ER as well. St Mary's is allowing no visitors except for pediatrics, L&D and Hospice care. Other hospitals also have restrictions in place.
Please understand the system is very taxed at this time. If you can, go see your family Dr. rather than using the Hospital E.R. please do so. If you need us, we are here but remember the 911 system should be used for emergencies.
Thank you,
Oxford Fire Dept.
