Half Of Oxford's Youth Cheer Teams To Go To Nationals: Report

Of the four youth cheerleading teams in Oxford, two of them have progressed through various stages of competition.

The Oxford youth cheerleading squads had many hurdles to overcome before earning a chance to compete at a national competition that takes place later this month, the Republican-American reports.

They had to progress from local and state tournaments, until most recently, regionals.

The D-8 Oxford Wolverines, a team that consists of 7 and 8-year-olds, currently have an undefeated record after winning a regional contest in Amherst, Mass., the Republican-American reports.

The 9 and 10-year old division, otherwise known as the D-10 squad, won first place in the New England American Youth Cheer Regional Championship,.

Both of these teams will be traveling to Lakeland, Fla. for nationals, which will take place from Dec. 10 to 14, according to a report by the Republican-American.
