Oxford 2019 Local Elections: Candidates, Polling Places, Hours
Here's what you need to know concerning the 2019 Oxford local elections including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

OXFORD, CT — Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 5 to vote in Oxford’s municipal election. The position of first selectman, selectman and several other seats are up for grabs.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.
Republican First Selectman George Temple is running for another term while Democratic candidate and business owner Betsi Hellman seeks the city’s top spot.

The selectman race is between Republican Arnold Jensen and Democrat Heather Ann Haney.

Vincent Paulutis is running unopposed for town treasurer and Ashely Schremmer is running unopposed for tax collector,
The candidates for Board of Finance are Democrats Susan Arpin and Diane Soracco and Republicans Dana Flach and Kathryn Dennen.
The Board of Education race candidates are Democrats Christin Kimball, Debbie Sherman, Ellen Fox and Republicans Stephanie Miller, Joseph Matusovich IV and Michael Koosa.
For Planning and Zoning Commission the candidates are Democrats Joshua Dykstra and John Kerwin and Republicans David Sauter and Brett Olbrys.
For Zoning Board of Appeals the candidates are Peter Bunzl, Jeffrey Holmes and Carl Bouchard.
For Board of Assessment Appeals the candidates are Democrat Ann Krane and Republican Timothy Richmond.
Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously registered voters standing in line before 8 p.m. to registrar won't guarantee the ability to vote.
Emergency application ballots are available for unforeseen circumstances within six days of the election.
