Oxford GOP Endorses Slate of Candidates

Oxford Republicans are in control of the Board of Selectmen and they would like to keep it that way. 

So Tuesday night, the party endorsed First Selectman George Temple and Selectman Jeff Haney to run for another two-year term.

Temple and Haney will join a ticket that includes five Board of Education candidates, including three newcomers, including former Selectman Dave Yish, plus current Board of Ed. Chairwoman Paula Guillet. Guillet was previously a Democrat but changed her party status to unaffiliated and sought the GOP nod.

The following is a list of all of the endorsed Republican candidates:

First Selectman: George Temple
Selectman: Jeff Haney

Tax Collector: Sharon Scinto

Town Treasurer: Michael Angelini

Board of Education: John Hatchell, Susan G. Kiernan (Mardis), Melissa Cole, David Yish, Paula Guillet

Board of Finance: Jack Kiley, Lila Ferrillo (chair), Tom Kelly 

Planning and Zoning: Todd Romagna, Jeff Luff, Joe Rasberry, Arnold Jensen

Board of Assessment Appeals: Linda Czaplinski

Zoning Board of Appeals: Larry Ellis, Alan Goldstone
