Oxford School Threat Leads To Additional Security Hires: Report

The Board of Selectmen approved up to $125,000 for the added security at the schools.

OXFORD, CT — The town has approved $125,000 to hire four to five new, part-time school safety officials, who will be armed, to patrol Oxford's schools, according to Fox 61.

The funds were approved this week after parents flooded a recent Board of Education meeting raising concerns after a fifth-grade student at Oxford Center School threatened to shoot three classmates, according to Fox 61. The threat surfaced on Halloween.
