Oxford Town Hall Reopened To Walk-In Visitors

Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

OXFORD, CT — Oxford Town Hall reopened to walk-in visitors this week, after being all or partially closed for months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Masks are still required for entry to the building for those who have not been vaccinated; those who have been vaccinated will be required to show their vaccination card until further notice.

Public meetings will now be offered in-person and online; online meeting links can be found on the meeting agendas on the town's website at oxford-ct.gov.

During a recent meeting on reopening, Oxford First Selectman George Temple presented Dr. Frederick Browne of Griffin Hospital with a plaque to acknowledge the town's appreciation for his support and advice during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Temple expressed his optimism that the pandemic will be abated and thanked the efforts of the emergency responders and healthcare providers for their effort in controlling the spread of this awful disease.

"We look forward to seeing our residents and visitors on a full-time basis," Temple said. "We thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we did our best to keep our staff and visitors healthy and safe."
