Police: Mother Arrested for Choking Baby

An area mother was arrested after being accused of trying to choke her eight-day-old baby, police said.

The incident happened on Monday in Beacon Falls, when the woman, 23-year-old Ashley Donovan, started to choke her baby in front of police, who had responded to a call for help at the house. 

Police forced her to the ground and freed the baby, who was treated at the hospital for scrapes and bruises, according to a police report. The baby was released to the father.
