Popular Oxford Restaurant Shut Down By E. Coli Bacteria In Water

Several businesses have been impacted.

OXFORD, CT — E. Coli bacteria was found in wells that serve Rose's Family Restaurant, The Office bar and the Kindercare Learning Center, the Republican-American reports. A health official told the Rep-Am that it's a "serious problem" and the businesses had to be closed to ensure the public is protected. None of the businesses are responsible for the E. Coli, which likely occurred due to ongoing sewer line work in the area.

No timetable has been given for when the businesses will reopen, but Rose's Restaurant said on social media that they may be closed for a week or even longer.

In a Thursday update, the restaurant owners said on their Facebook page that, "Still closed, they’re talking about a week or more as of right now! I will keep you all posted as this unfortunate thing unravels! Once again thank you all for your concerns and an enormous thanks for all the support!! We love you all very dearly and without you there is no Roses!"
