Vintage Baseball Game Taking Place in Litchfield

Watch how baseball was played in the 1860s, without gloves!

Watch the Simsbury Taverneers take on the Connecticut Picked Nine in a game of old-fashioned base ball.

Hosted by the Litchfield Historical Society, the game will take place on Saturday, May 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Community Field in Litchfield. Watch how baseball was played in the 1860s, without gloves and a different number of players than we see today.

This event is free, but donations are encouraged. Concessions will be available to purchase at the event. Kids’ activities will be held between innings. Bleacher seating is very limited, so it is recommended you bring your own lawn chairs.
