The Aldrich In Ridgefield Fills Key Position
The new hire has Fairfield County roots and comes to The Aldrich from the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum has named Betty Stolpen Weiner as its new director of development.
Weiner was previously the major gifts officer at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City, where she had worked in various fundraising roles since 2009. At the Whitney she cultivated new donors, secured major gifts and donations, planned special events, including domestic and international travel for high level donors, and managed a number of committees and patron groups. She began work at The Aldrich on March 22, 2021.
At The Aldrich, Weiner will lead the Development department which includes cultivating donor relationships, securing critical funding for exhibitions, programs, and operations, grant writing, overseeing the museum's membership program, and annual fundraisers.
"Betty’s extensive tenure in the Whitney Museum of American Art’s Development department and Fairfield County roots make her a fantastic addition to the museum's staff and will be instrumental in The Aldrich's continued growth,” said Cybele Maylone, executive director.
"Having grown up in Fairfield County, I was introduced to The Aldrich at a young age, and it helped mold my interest in the visual arts. It is especially meaningful to return to the area and join the team of this wonderful museum. I look forward to being a part of continuing the Museum’s mission of providing a platform for artists at pivotal moments in their careers and helping to shape The Aldrich's future for generations to come," Weiner said.
