Car Backs out of Driveway and Over Woman in Ridgefield

Victim sent to hospital for injuries.

 

A vehicle backed out of a driveway on 6 Sunset Lane, running over a 31 year-old woman who was behind the car, and kept going “until workers across the street started yelling for him to stop,” police reports state.  The driver then pulled forward, away from the pedestrian. The incident occured on July 31.

Police identified the driver as Caston Lowe, 62, of Garfield Ave from Bridgeport.  The pedestrian was identified as Alicia Steinfeld of the same address where the incident occurred, reports state.

The driver then ran out of the vehicle “to check the back of his vehicle only to find the pedestrian on the ground,” according to reports. Steinfeld was transported to the Danbury Hospital for unspecified injuries.

No charges have been filed since the incident occurred on private property.
