Connecticut Coronavirus Trends Move Slightly Upward

These are the latest town-by-town statistics on the spread of the coronavirus in Connecticut

CONNECTICUT — The daily coronavirus positivity rate in Connecticut has climbed from 2.41 percent to 3.37 percent in the latest data released by the state Department of Public Health on Friday.

The positivity rate is a function of the daily number of positive COVID-19 cases versus the number of tests. There were 1,807 new confirmed cases logged out of 53,584 tests taken.

Sixteen more residents were admitted to Connecticut hospitals with COVID-19, according to DPH. That brings the number of those hospitalized with the virus to 531.

Coronavirus-associated deaths across the state rose by four on Thursday. The COVID-19 death toll in Connecticut now stands at 7,944.
