Girl Scouts Collect Soccer Equipment for Bridgeport School

Ridgefield Girl Scouts, Sophie Desmarais and Allie Price, are collecting soccer equipment for Cesar Batalla School in Bridgeport.

Sophie Desmarais and Allie Price are cadettes in Girl Scout troop 50465. They both love soccer and play the sport. For their Silver Award project, they decided they wanted to share their love of the game with someone else.

Cesar Batalla is an elementary school in Bridgeport, CT for PreK-8thgrade. It serves one of the poorest communities in the state and 100%of the students qualify for state funded lunches. Last year BrighterLives For Kids Foundation ran two successful soccer programs in the spring and fall and they are hoping to do this again this spring. The girls are looking for new or gently used soccer socks, soccerballs, soccer cleats, and shin guards for students aged 4-10. There will be collection bins at Branchville Elementary School, East RidgeMiddle School, Tiger Sports, the Rec Center, and the Boys and Girls Club. The collection bins have already been dropped off at the sites and will be staying there through the month of February into early March. The items dropped off should be physical items.
