Meals on Wheels (“MOW”) was thrilled to receive an extremely generous grant from the Ridgefield Thrift Shop last week. Last year MOW served a record breaking 38,788 meals to Ridgefield residents, and this grant will be used to help MOW meet the rising need for meals during the Covid-19 crisis. “We appreciate the long-time support of the Ridgefield Thrift Shop, and their generous donation to us and others in the community during a difficult year,” said Dean Miller, MOW President & Board Chair.

Despite the challenges of the past year during the pandemic, including being closed during a large portion of the year, the Ridgefield Thrift Shop steadfastly continued their tradition of supporting local nonprofits. The Ridgefield Thrift Shop is staffed entirely by volunteers and donates all revenue to local charities, including Meals on Wheels.

Meals on Wheels is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides nourishing meals to those in need of assistance and since 1972 has been providing nourishing meals to ANY Ridgefield resident who cannot prepare their own meals, including the elderly, disabled and infirm. For information on becoming a client, volunteering or donating please visit the MOW website http://www.mealsonwheelsofridg...
