Outage Outrage: Over 3,400 Still Without Power In Ridgefield
Ridgefield's First Selectman Rudy Marconi said he was looking into "possible legal action" as the Eversource outage approached its 2nd week.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — First Selectman Rudy Marconi said he has spoken with counsel about "possible legal action," as the power outage in town wound down its seventh day.
"Many calls received today have been from people frustrated by the lack of information from Eversource," Marconi said in an email alert to residents. "I share your frustrations."
Marconi joins a growing list of municipal bosses and state legislators who are fuming over Eversource's preparation and response after Tropical Storm Isaias knocked out power to nearly a million of the company's Connecticut customers.

"I know this does not get your power back, please know that we continue to fight for complete restoration," Marconi said.
The state Legislature is looking to hold a hearing about the power company's preparedness and response to the storm, said Rep. David Arconti, chair of the Energy and Technology Committee.

The matter may be taken up in a special session or the regular session next year, Arconti said.
In a report released Saturday, the Eversource pledged to have the town's lights back on by Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 11:59 p.m. The utility still has 3,450 customers without power in town as of Monday evening.
Marconi urges residents struggling with the heat wave alongside power outage to call 203-431-2350 or contact Ridgefield Office of Emergency Management on Facebook for help.
