The image started on Snapchat and was circulated to other forms of social media.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — A racist image circulated among high school students has students deeply troubled, reports the Ridgefield Press. The image was described as a white teenager made up in blackface, with an arrow connecting the image to a racial slur.

THe press reported the image was originally sent on Snapchat and that it was screen-saved and reposted on other social media. It took place in October.

Lashawnna Mullins, a Ridgefield High School freshman, was one of eight students from A Bettter Chance of Ridgefield who agreed to speak to the publication about the incident. The program gives talented minority students from struggling districts a chance to attend high-quality schools, such as RHS.
