Ridgefield Coach Steps Down Unexpectedly

The announcement came less than two days before the team starts postseason play

RIDGEFIELD, CT — A Ridgefield High School coach has resigned unexpectedly, the editor of the Ruden Report tweeted out Thursday.

“Just want to be with my family,” DiMarzo told Gametime CT in a text message Thursday night when asked why he had stepped down. “Personal reasons is all I am saying.”

DiMarzo was in his fifth season at RHS, and coached the girls basketball Tigers to a FCIAC championship in the 2014-15 season.

Assistant coach Anthony Hill will be is taking over as head coach for the Tigers' postseason play, which begins Saturday versus Trumbull in a quarterfinal playoff game.
