Ridgefield International Theatre Festival Needs Volunteers
Ridgefield's annual Chekhov International Theatre Festival is only a few weeks away.
The Chekhov International Theatre Festival, now in its sixth year, is looking for volunteers for the two events planned this year and the Festival Committee Board of Directors.
Roger the Jester will perform under the tent on the Ridgefield Playhouse field (Ciuccoli Field) on Sunday, Aug. 10 at 2 p.m. The Festival performances will be held at the beautiful theatre at Schlumberger in Ridgefield, Connecticut from Thursday to Saturday, September 18, 19, and 20. See www.chekhovfestival.com for more information.
All ages are welcome to volunteer. The time commitment can vary from as little as a few hours or days to serving for 2 months prior to the event.
In addition, the Festival Committee is looking for one new member to serve on their Board of Directors. The individual should be a town resident who has interest in theatre or finance and has some board experience.
The Chekhov International Theatre Festival pays tribute to Michael Chekhov, the renowned Russian-American actor, humanitarian, mentor, and Founder of the Chekhov Ridgefield School. Located in a barn at the edge of town in 1939, the Chekhov School brought the Chekhov Method of acting to many stars, such as Marilyn Monroe, Yul Brynner, and more recently, Johnny Depp.
