Ridgefield Needs Firefighter-Paramedics And Firefighter-EMTs
Ridgefield is currently accepting applications for firefighter-paramedics and firefighter-EMTs. Here's how to apply.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The town is now accepting applications for the positions of firefighter/EMT and firefighter/paramedic. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age, non-smokers, in good physical condition and of high moral character interested in a career in the Ridgefield Fire and EMS Services. according to the job listing. No previous firefighting experience is required.
Candidates should be at least 18 years old, possess a valid State of Connecticut Paramedic or EMT license, as well as a valid Connecticut driver's license, or one from a state with Connecticut reciprocity.
The Town of Ridgefield requires candidates to have successfully passed the Candidate Physical Ability Test and must provide proof of valid CPAT effective no earlier than July 1, 2019, or have passed the CPAT by the time of the interview the week of June 14.

This position may work rotating 24-hour shifts or rotating 12-hour day shifts scheduled after Recruit Firefighter Training and/or department orientation.
Fire Academy Recruit Graduates and transferring career firefighters will be given extra consideration during the application process.

The full time starting salary for a firefighter/paramedic is $60,772 per year, and $58,772 for a firefighter/EMT. The positions come with a benefit package including a 401(a) with matched by the town, and medical/dental/vision benefits. Minority and female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
