Ridgefield Needs Firefighter-Paramedics: Here's How To Apply
Ridgefield is currently accepting applications for firefighter-paramedics.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The town is now accepting applications for the positions of firefighter-paramedics. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age, non-smokers, in good physical condition and of high moral character, according to the job listing. No previous firefighting experience is required.
Candidates should possess a valid State of Connecticut Paramedic license, as well as a valid Connecticut vehicle operator's license, or one from a state with Connecticut reciprocity.
The Town of Ridgefield requires candidates to have successfully passed the Candidate Physical Ability Test and must provide proof of valid CPAT effective no earlier than July 1, 2019, or have passed the CPAT by the time of appointment (anticipated mid-July).

This position may work rotating 24-hour shifts or rotating 12-hour day shifts scheduled after Recruit Firefighter Training and/or department orientation.
Fire Academy Recruit Graduates will be given extra consideration during the application process.

The full time starting salary for a Firefighter/Paramedic is $60,772 per year. This position comes with a benefit package including a 401(a) with Town Match and medical/dental/vision benefits. Minority and female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
