Ridgefield Police stopped a car driving the wrong way on Route 7, the Danbury Road, at 12:21 a.m. Tuesday. Police said they stopped the car and the driver failed a field sobriety test. The driver, William Allen, 24, of Middletown, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in an established lane. Allen was released on a $150 bond for an appearance scheduled in Danbury Superior Court on Jan. 28.
