Ridgefield Ranked Safest Town in CT
Ridgefield ranked among the safest communities in Connecticut, according to an examination of 2012 crime statistics by a security company.

A comparison of crime statistics done by a company that sells security cameras ranks Ridgefield as the safest community in all of Connecticut.
The list was put together by Safe Choice Security, a Jacksonville, FL-based company that also issued rankings for other states.
Also on the Connecticut list (full list at the bottom of this article) were nearby Wilton (No. 4), Easton (No. 5) and Redding (6). Of the top 10 towns, eight were in Fairfield County.

In crowning Ridgefield as the safest town in the state, Safe Choice noted that “Keeping residents safe is something the city takes seriously with an emergency alert system and a detailed emergency preparedness plan. With its own police department, Ridgefield does a fantastic job of keeping citizens safe, as it is the safest city in Connecticut.”
