Ridgefield stores will be spilling out onto the sidewalks for the summer-long event.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Summer Sidewalk Stroll kicks off Wednesday, and will continue through Sept. 7.

Local stores will be spilling out onto the sidewalks for the summer-long event. Businesses are encouraged to "adopt" local non-profit organizations and help promote their missions by sharing pamphlets and information.

Organizers hope to expand the program to include special outdoor events from the town's arts and cultural organizations later in the summer.
