Ridgefield Teen Caught Allegedly Smoking Marijuana In New Canaan Park: Cops

NEW CANAAN, CT — Two teenagers - a 17-year-old from New Canaan and an 18-year-old from Ridgefield - were issued summons for possession of marijuana on Tuesday night, Oct. 17, after they were found in a vehicle just after 9 p.m. at Waveny Park in New Canaan, according to police.

The 17 year old's identity was not released due to his age, but the Ridgefield youth was identified as John Wisdom, of Wilton Road West.

"On above date and time an officer on patrol observed an occupied vehicle in Waveny Park violating the town ordinance governing park hours," wrote New Canaan police in a statement. "The officer made contact with the listed occupants of the vehicle and upon approaching the vehicle and speaking with the occupants, the officer detected the odor of marijuana."

How much marijuana was in their possession was not disclosed.
