Two Ridgefield Stores Fail Alcohol Compliance Check

Ridgefield Police and the Connecticut Liquor Control Division coordinated to conduct “compliance checks of 11 package stores and grocery stores that sell beer in the town of Ridgefield,” according to a statement released by the Ridgefield Police Department.

Two out of the 11 stores failed the compliance check by selling alcohol to a volunteer youth who “had been trained by the Governor’s Prevention Partnership,” the release states.

The two stores that failed were New England Wine and Spirits and Mélange Fine Wines and Spirits. They have been referred to the Liquor Control Commission, states the release.

“These random checks of the liquor stores and bars/restaurants will continue to assure compliance to the state’s liquor laws,” the release reads.
