Dangerous Driving: When Will the Snow Will Stop in Ridgefield?
Icy roads, snow and freezing rain will make for treacherous driving conditions on Saturday. BREAKING
RIDGEFIELD, CT — A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 2 p.m. for the area and a Hazardous Weather Statement has been issued for Fairfield and Litchfield Counties as well. The National Weather Service (NWS) said that snow will turn to a wintry mix on Saturday morning and that driving conditions are extremely dangerous.
Snow and freezing rain is blanketing the state and numerous accidents have been reported by Connecticut's Department of Transportation. Snow accumulations of three to four inches will make driving challenging as there could be up to a tenth inch of ice on the roadways.
Snow will change to freezing rain by mid to late morning, the NWS states. Snow, sleet and freezing rain could make visibility perilous as well. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 20s.
