As area residents plan to celebrate so much that Simsbury offers at the end of this month, Red Stone Pub will also host a Craft Beer Festival complete with live music.
The Nov. 30 event is not affiliated with Simsbury Celebrates but for the third year will overlap with the event.
Marc Lubetkin, owner/managing partner, said it will give folks a chance to have some refreshment in between other activities.
"This gives the adults and adults with children a place to go, have a little refreshment and not have dinner," he said. "It's not a drunk fest. It's about having a good beer and perhaps some chili — all while staying warm."
The warmth goes beyond the belly too as Lubetkin plans to have some heat lamps in the closed-off courtyard where the event will be held.
The event runs from 1 to 9 p.m. and from 4 to 8 p.m. features John Mayock and the Homesteaders, who were recently named best country band at the CT Music Awards.
The event is $10, which includes entrance, the music and the first beer. Additional ones will be $5. Wall of Foam and CT Beer Trail members pay half price to enter. Kids enter free but must be with parents. Other food and non-alcoholic beverages such as hot chocolate and hot cider will also be sold.
Lubetkin said there are a wide range of beers, including:
- Sierra Nevada Celebration
- Lagunitas IPA
- Guinness
- Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
- Warsteiner Pilsener
- Back East Winterfest
In addition, representatives of the Sierra Nevada, Back East and the CT beer trail will be on hand.
The event takes place from 1 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30.
