
CANTON, N.Y. (readMedia) — Cailyn L. Welsh, of Simsbury, has been inducted into St. Lawrence University's chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon, the national mathematics honorary society. Welsh is a member of the Class of 2014, and graduated from Simsbury High School.
Established in 1914, Pi Mu Epsilon has chapters at over 300 colleges and universities across the country. Its purpose is the promotion of scholarly activity in mathematics among the students in academic institutions. At St. Lawrence, the chapter sponsors an annual mathematics contest for area high school students.
