Connecticut Hang-A-Quilt Day, Saturday, June 19, 2021
Quilts will be on the fences downtown at Simsbury Center Cemetery and Simsbury Historical Society. See FVQuilter.org for an address list.
Farmington Valley Quilters is sponsoring their third annual Connecticut Hang-A-Quilt Day event on Saturday, June 19, 2021 (rain date Sunday, June 20, 2021). This free outdoor quilt show will showcase the art and beauty of quilting.
In this time of social distancing, this is the perfect event for art lovers and quilters. Anyone who owns a handmade quilt is encouraged to display it outside their home on a fence, clothesline, railing, tree, garage, chair, or any other creative way to display it. Your neighbors who drive or walk by will enjoy its beauty.
Quiltfolk Magazine covered Connecticut Hang-A-Quilt Day in their Issue 17 (January, 2021) issue which featured Connecticut quilters. This national magazine is helping to promote the event nationally.

Farmington Valley Quilters will have a large display in the center of Simsbury and they also plan to list addresses to view other quilts. Last year quilts were displayed all over Connecticut and quilt shops helped to promote the event. Plan to participate to showcase Connecticut.
If you participate and post a picture of your quilt on social media with #CTHangAQuiltDay, everyone will be able to enjoy no matter how confined we may be. Photographs from previous years can be found at FVQUILTER.ORG.
