This CT Restaurant Named Among Top Wine Spots In Country
Wine Enthusiast editors toured the country looking for the 100 best wine restaurants, and Connecticut made the list.
CONNECTICUT — Diners who want a truly fine glass or bottle of wine with their meal — we’re not judging! — don’t want to fly blind and take a chance on a disappointing pour. Wine Enthusiast magazine just published a useful guide that profiles the great wine restaurants in 38 states and Puerto Rico, including Connecticut.
The magazine compiles the list of the 100 best wine restaurants every year, looking for “eateries that incorporate wine in thoughtful and exciting ways.”
The restaurants aren’t arranged according to preference, as a ranking would be, and there’s no matrix for the number of bottles of wine on hand, prices or the types of food the restaurant serves.

In Connecticut, Millwright’s, of Simsbury, CT made the cut.
Why Wine Experience loves it: "Chef-Owner Tyler Anderson’s flagship is in a former grist mill dating to 1679. The New England-influenced food is as charming as the venue, with dishes like johnnycakes with honey sesame butter, and clam chowder-flavored tapioca custard. Domestic wines feature strongly on a list that favors small producers."
The dish they loved the most: "Roast cauliflower with grilled lettuce, black sesame seed dressing, and granola."
