Deer Rescued in Simsbury Put Down

The animal's injuries were too severe, necessitating the decision to euthanize it.

SIMSBURY, CT — A deer that had been rescued from the frozen Farmington River in Simsbury Monday was euthanized early Tuesday, Fox61 reported.

The animal had sustained serious injuries, including a broken shoulder and jaw, and had lost a considerable amount of blood.

A veterinarian recommended the deer be put down.
