Flash Flood Watch Issued For Northern CT
The National Weather Service has just issued a statement for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties from now until Thursday morning. In the afternoon announcement, the weather service says "Bands of showers and a few embedded thunderstorms with localized torrential rainfall are expected at times through tonight.
While rainfall amounts may vary considerably over short distances...rainfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour are possible in some locations. This may result in the potential for both localized small stream as well as urban flash flooding," the weather service states.
"A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued," the weather service adds.
