Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Simsbury on Tuesday

There is a chance for thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and the weekend weather forecast has changed for the worst.

Several areas of the state dealt with severe weather last night, and there is a chance for more severe weather this afternoon.

The greatest chance for severe weather is in Hartford and Tolland counties where a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” has been issued for Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, “there is a moderate probability for scattered strong to severe thunderstorms. In addition to heavy rain and lightning... there is potential for large hail and strong to damaging winds. Cannot rule out a possible tornado.”

Weekend Forecast Change for the Worst

On Monday, the weekend forecast looked great with sunny skies predicted for both Saturday and Sunday, but that has now changed abruptly. If you have weekend plans, Saturday now looks like it could be rainy at least for the first half of the day and into the early afternoon.

It appears Sunday will be the best weather day if you have outdoor plans.

We’ll update the weekend weather forecast later in the week.
