Connecticut Weather: 4th Nor'easter May Bring Accumulating Snow
If you thought winter was over, well there is some bad news for you as the snow drama builds on Wednesday.

The snow drama is building in anticipation of a nor'easter that will move near Connecticut and may impact our weather on Wednesday. In a big change from Sunday, the National Weather Service is now predicting that there will be accumulating snow in southern Connecticut on Wednesday. The weather service is still not predicting a lot of snow for northern Connecticut but new computer models Monday morning show the entire state may see plowable snow.
The National Weather Service is forecasting that coastal areas of the state will see the most snow, maybe 3 to 6 inches, while inland areas could see between 2-4 inches of snow. And to show you how close this storm is to producing significant snow for everyone, the weather service is predicting less than an inch of snow in northern Connecticut but if the track moves a bit more north, the Hartford area could receive seven inches or more of snow.
Again, the nor'easter track is too uncertain to predict right now but one thing is certain and that is the storm is trending closer to Connecticut now and some models on Monday show significant accumulating snow.

In a weather statement on Monday, the weather service says for southern Connecticut, "Intensifying low pressure off the southern Mid Atlantic coast will likely bring accumulating snow from late Tuesday night into Wednesday evening. Depending on the eventual track of the storm, some areas may receive significant snowfall of 6 inches or more. This would be more likely to occur across central and eastern Long Island, but also cannot be ruled out elsewhere, mainly in the New York City Tri- State area and across coastal Connecticut."
The weather service adds that cool and dry conditions will continue through today into tonight. Temperatures will remain below normal, with highs in the upper 30s to middle 40s, and lows tonight in the teens to near freezing.

"The next chance for precipitation will come Tuesday afternoon to evening as a coastal storm develops off the Mid-Atlantic Coast and passes south and east of Long Island. Our area will be on the northern fringes of this storm, and there will be the possibility of snow Tuesday into the middle of the week, mainly for southern
portions of the forecast area. The current forecast calls for 3-6 inches of snow for portions of the NYC metro into Long Island, with anywhere from 1-4 inches elsewhere by Wednesday. Conditions will also become breezy Tuesday night into Wednesday, mainly for coastal locations. The forecast is still very uncertain, so stay
tuned for updates."
And some local folks aren't giving up on the belief that the entire state will see some snow Wednesday.
Certainly can't write off Wednesday's storm. Decent probabilities for accumulating snow across the state. #nbcct pic.twitter.com/ujVYwzs65x

Bright and beautiful today, but still about 8-10 degrees below average for this time of year. Tomorrow's another quiet day before we have a snow potential on Wednesday. No big warmups the next several days! pic.twitter.com/MvVbYBOrMI
