Rain Today, Fair Tomorrow -- with Sun, Sun, Sun and 70s Temps

Saturday is the best day to be outdoors around here for a long, long time, and if you weren’t zipping down to the Caribbean for the recent school break, well — you get Saturday in the 70s for free (although it could get a bit gusty).

Showers are expected Friday from morning to early afternoon, with the temperature only in the 60s after that, the National Weather Service says. Sunday doesn’t have any rain in the forecast, but it will be cooler, in the 50s and 60s.

For the rest of the upcoming week, the weather service says it will probably rain on Monday and it may well rain on other weekdays. At this point, Weather.com expects next weekend’s temperatures to only hit the 50s.

• Friday — Showers likely, mainly before 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 66. Southwest wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Friday night — Mostly cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 47. West wind 3 to 8 mph.
• Saturday — Sunny, with a high near 73. Light west wind increasing to 9 to 14 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
