Representative Hampton Informational Forum On Bears

State representative John K. Hampton will hold an info session on bears.

SIMSBURY, CT - From the Connecticut General Assembly: Simsbury's State Representative John K. Hampton will hold an informational forum regarding bears with Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Conservation Police Officer Edward Yescott and DEEP State Biologist Jason Hawley on Wednesday, August 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at the Simsbury Public Library, 725 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury.

As a result of the large number of reported sightings of bears and certain incidents that have occurred, Rep. Hampton is encouraging residents to attend the forum to learn what steps they can take to increase their personal safety and their families’.

“My office has received several phone calls from concerned residents, including parents of children at bus stops and those who use our hiking and biking trails regarding bear sightings. With the start of the new school year, I want to make sure we are doing everything we can to be safe.”
