Simsbury banker serving on blue-ribbon panel during Financial Literacy Forum on May 6

Free Forum will provide invaluable, practical financial information that most people should know but many do not

Stephen Vaughan, Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager at Simsbury Bank, is serving on a blue-ribbon panel of financial experts during "Achieving Financial Security: A Community Forum" on Saturday, May 6 from 8 am to 2:30 pm. The event is being organized by the Connecticut Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP) and The First Cathedral, 1151 Blue Hills Avenue in
Bloomfield. The Forum will begin with a general session that is especially relevant for people age 50 and up, followed by breakout sessions for various age groups from age 18 and up. Admission is free and open to the public. Dress is casual. The facility is handicapped-accessible.

At Simsbury Bank, Vaughan works directly with business owners and managers to help them achieve their goals. He has more than 28 years of commercial lending and financial consulting experience, serving as a banking officer at two other institutions as well as managing his own real estate mortgage company. He also an ordained pastor.

Topics to be covered during the Forum include preparing for retirement; getting income in retirement; signing up for Social Security; using Medicare benefits; helping elderly parents; making sure that your family
