Farmington fine artist Kate Emery is collaborating with Simsbury-based For All Ages to raise funds to support this nonprofit’s mission of fostering connections between the generations and eradicating loneliness. Emery will donate 75 percent of proceeds from the auction of her original painting, Spring Sunrise, to For All Ages, and bids may be placed online at KateEmery.com/auctions through 8 p.m. on February 28, 2021. All participating bidders will receive a free For All Ages coffee mug in the mail.

Emery’s painting of sheep and lambs sharing sweet moments in the barnyard pasture at the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington “beautifully evokes friendship and togetherness, connection and belonging, and it has a joyful color palette,” says For All Ages founder Deb Bibbins. The winning bidder will bring home this 14x18-inch oil on canvas, valued at $700, in a ready-to-hang frame. Spring Sunrise can be viewed on the artist’s website (KateEmery.com).

“I love what For All Ages is doing and how Deb has channeled a personal sadness into a gift to the community,” says Emery, who donates one-third or more of the proceeds from all of her sales to community organizations. A second-career artist who works full-time from her studio in Farmington, Emery founded The Walker Group, a Farmington-based professional technology services social enterprise, and reSET, a Hartford-based nonprofit that seeks to advance the social enterprise sector in the state.
