Simsbury Chamber Announces New Title Sponsor Of Chili Challenge

Popular Annual Competition Renamed The Richman Spooktacular Chili Challenge presented by The Simsbury Chamber of Commerce

The Simsbury Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Richman Business Brokerage & Insurance, LLC has signed on as the title sponsor of its widely popular annual chili cook-off. The Simsbury Chili Challenge will now stand as The Richman Spooktacular Chili Challenge for 2018! David A. Richman, a well-known local business owner and Simsbury community supporter, jumped at the opportunity to sponsor this town-wide event that has become the Chamber’s largest and most successful event to date.


“As a long-time Simsbury Chamber member, I have been incredibly impressed with the ambitious and creative ways the Simsbury Chamber has attracted new visitors to our town,” said Richman. “I am honored to support this fantastic event as I want to “insure” its continued success.”

As the owner of Richman Business Brokerage & Insurance, LLC in Simsbury, Richman specializes in small business brokerage, along with full service life and health benefit management. Richman’s career encompasses 35+ years of sales and ownership experience in a variety of industries including insurance, commercial real estate investments, and financial management.

In addition to the Chili Challenge, the Simsbury Chamber hosted Simsbury’s first-ever outdoor art installation Life In Simsbury: A Public Art Trail. The 32 bronze sculptures created by the internationally-renowned artist, Seward Johnson, have been on display in various locations throughout Simsbury since May.

The 4th Annual Richman Spooktacular Chili Challenge will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 12:00-5:00 pm at the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center on Iron Horse Boulevard. The event is a fully-sanctioned International Chili Society (ICS) cook-off and, for the third year in a row, will include a local restaurant competition.

Amateur cooks can sign up to compete on the ICS website, www.chilicookoff.com. Tickets are $10 in advance for age 11 and up. Children 10 and under are FREE. Tickets can be purchased on the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce website, www.simsburycoc.org, the event website, simsburychili.com, or by calling (860) 651-7307.

Hassett & George, P. C., a law firm owned by Simsbury Chamber of Commerce President Lou George, will serve as a Hot Sponsor of the event.
