Simsbury High School Opens Rugby season this week
The Simsbury High School Rugby Program celebrating their 15th year kicks off both their Boys and Girls program this week.

The Simsbury High School Rugby Program celebrating their 15th year kicks off both their Boys and Girls program this week. The girls host Southington Thursday night at 6pm. The boys will travel to Staples for a Friday night contest under the lights.
Both games will be tough opening night matches. Southington has been the girls arch rival for years and will test the trojans out of the gates. The boys team plays in one of the toughest divisions in the country with Greenwich and Staples looking for a USA Nationals bid offers in 2021. The boys will make a living playing against the gold coast with games against Staples, Darien, Notre Dame Fairfield, Ridgefield , Fairfield Prep and Greenwich.
The Simsbury High School Varisty Rugby Program has one of the higest player registeration numbers for spring sports despite loosing their 2020 season, no youth feeder program and limited national broadcast of Rugby. The sport of Rugby is alive and thriving in Simsbury.
