Simsbury Man Charged On 55 Felony Counts
He is accused of making about 130 attempts to call a person who holds a no-contact order against him, police said.
SIMSBURY, CT — A local resident who told state police he had been assaulted by someone from whom he had been court-ordered to stay away found himself charged last week with 55 felony counts and a misdemeanor.
Michael Jarvis, 33, was charged with 54 counts of violating a protective order and a single count of first-degree stalking, all felonies. He was also charged with second-degree harassment, a misdemeanor. He is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond, according to judicial records.
On Dec. 6, Jarvis went to the Stafford resident state trooper's office on Route 190 to report he had been assaulted. He told police he had first called the person who assaulted him, despite a no-contact order against him, according to a police report.
